Technology to find Penguins

Penguins are one of the most beautiful bird species in the world. British Scientists in order to study the Penguins life cycle, took satellite pictures of Penguin Colonies in Antarctica. Actually it is difficult to identify the Penguins even from the photos taken from high powered satellites. But penguin waste shows up nicely from space, staining the ice a light brown. And during breeding season the ice gets dirty and the colonies are clearly visible. With the help of penguin poops, scientists identified 35 penguin colonies and out of which 10 were new. When compared to their previous study, they found that 6 colonies were relocated and another 6 colonies were lost.
